Ok.. i get its a year today since the London bombs. But i rang up my local Social Security place today in an emergency, and recieved the automated message, We are currently not taking calls out of respect for those who lost their lives! Whats that all about??
Its just over a year now since the Live Aid concert. Remember the images?? Snap….pause… snap…..pause… snap! One every 3 seconds. I looked at my blog entry for this time last year and it comments upon how the country was in uproar about these bombs, yet we nice and quickly forgot about the 10,000 kids which die every day from drinking dirty water, and other povety related issues, which if countries like ours really bothered to pull our fingers out, would be a thing of the past.
Multiply that by 365 days.
Then think about tomorrow… and the 10,000 more.
Curiously.. they banned the charity from advertising
"Make Poverty History, the wide-ranging charity coalition that signed up a host of celebrities to star in a high-profile campaign before the G8 summit in Gleneagles, has been banned from advertising on television and radio.
The media regulator Ofcom yesterday ruled that the "click" ads featuring people such as Kate Moss, Kylie Minogue and Brad Pitt, which received blanket coverage across all commercial broadcasters on March 31, constituted a political message and therefore fell foul of the 2003 Communications Act"
Hmmm Prioritys huh!
